What I liked
What confused me
Suggestions
I liked the background music, the setting and light exposure. I thought the dolly and over the shoulder shots were nice. The simultaneity between the little girl and the killer was nicely executed. The point of view shot/scene with the knives inside the house was good because it added more suspense and fit the horror theme.
I was not confused about anything really. I thought the story was well executed and correlated with the theme. I applaud Berluche for doing a good job with this opening!
I would suggest to decrease the background sounds a bit so they're not too overwhelming and overly dramatic. Use more natural sounds like the killer walking or the little girl worrying to add more suspense.
I liked how the titles (music, actors, production company) were slowly added in as the opener progressed, something that usually takes place in actual movie openers that I did not see in some of the other group projects. I also appreciated that Berluche spelled "starring" correctly because MANY of the AICE Media openers that I have seen on YouTube all spell it "staring" for some reason. The music fit in perfectly with the plot and allowed for some diegetic sound to peek through. The transition to different shots were not choppy and mainly flowed.
I'm not sure if i simply didn't see well, but I thought the knife from the first shot was going to translate to the last shot. I didn't see any knife in the perpetrator's hand in the end when he walked towards the little girl's house. I was also confused as to why he hid behind some very bare limbs at 0:26. I know he was trying to remain out of the girl's sight and everything is harder to see in the dark, but it was weird that he tried to hide behind a plant that someone could typically clearly see another person through.
Maybe Berluche could try incorporating the knife in the last scene to show he actually plans on using it. As for the plant situation, perhaps hiding lower or behind some other object that is not as transparent would make more sense.
This one had a very ominous setting and had good background noises. I really liked how they added in all the names of the actors It made it feel like a real movie opener.
This one I didn't completely understand what this movie was supposed to be about, it was a lot of just walking around the house with scary music and I just didn't see the bigger picture. From the title I see that most likely its supposed to be a kidnapper case but the whole minute of the film doesn't display that until the last few seconds.
Maybe focus equally on the kidnapper and the kid and maybe show more that the kid is fearing this person coming to the house, or that there were multiple kidnaps as the title is "those who are taken"
The music of the opening clearly steps up the suspense of the film as well as the decision to film everything in the dark of night. Additionally, the font and color scheme of the opening title is creatively done to give off horror vibes.
After already feeling suspicious about somebody watching her that night, why would she decide to take her trash out during the same night !?!? (Not really a complaint just frustrated about that scary movie trope).
None, really. Well executed for its intentions. Maybe add more transitions as opposed to only use the fading transtitions between cuts.
I liked the music added to the background of the film opening. I thought the music was very appropriate for the opening as it was eerie and suspenseful. I also enjoyed the camera shot of where the character which appears to be the villain emerges from the dark and walks towards the home of the other character.
The sequencing of the opening has me a bit confused. In the beginning of the clip it already shows the villain close up to the house of where the other character lives. However at the end of the movie clip when the other characters takes out the garbage, the villain emerges from a farther distance.
I overall enjoyed watching this movie clip opening and he plot and genre of it is clear and to the point. i would just make sure that you take a look at the sequencing as it is a bit confusing when it comes to character placement throughout the clip .
The dark and foreboding tone of the opening was firmly backed by the music and camerawork, leaving the viewers and critics with a very clear sense of the genre and the target audience. The scene at the beginning with the kitchen knife is thoughtfully placed to create intrigue and mystery, which is complimented by the later shots in the opening, and the title of the movie, which is unique and catchy.
The motive of the killer/kidnapper (inferring from the title and the beginning scene) was left unknown, and the significance of the knife to the rest of the scenes was also not shown or explained.
Opening credits other the the title of the movie should be added, and a shot at the end could maybe be appended to show the viewers what happened to the child followed by the camera. I would also suggest that the director(s) add dialogue to the opener, perhaps with a parent or sibling of the child.
The music in the background effectively added to the mood of the opener. The camera shots also enhanced the eerie feeling.
The ending of the opener, but I think it added the sense of mystery and suspense a movie opener is supposed to elicit.
Refilm some of the shots for better quality, other than that I felt it flowed really well.
I liked the camera shots and music used, they made everything flow smoothly. I especially liked the scene where we could see the silhouette of the person hiding in the buses, it really helped to portray the genre they were going for by giving off an ominous vibe.
nothing in the film opening left me confused.
The only thing I would change would be the last scene of the guy walking up to the camera from behind the cars. This is because they already showed his silhouette behind the trees which are clearly in FRONT of the cars already. So i would just have him walk up from behind the trees rather than the cars so there continuity.
I liked how it was put together and enjoyed the variety of shots. The music also gave the video an overall eerie feeling.
There wasn't anything that left me confused. Your storyline was well put together.
A minor thing would possible making the shots a little more stable due to the fact that some of them are shaky.

summary: I received a lot of great feedback from these peer reviews. Like for example not a lot of people were confused by my story line and left confused by my opening it had a clear genre and obviously showed that it was a horror movie. they did suggest though to decrease volume on the background music and include more to the kidnapper, also incorporate the knife to the other scenes also.
